#MusicHistory On this day, 1985, R.E.M. released Fables of the Reconstruction on I.R.S. Records, their 3rd album. Following Murmur & Reckoning, it leaned into Southern folklore, with songs like “Driver 8,” “Maps and Legends,” “Life and How to Live It,” “Can’t Get There from Here,” & “Wendell Gee”.
