America celebrated her 100th birthday on 7/4/1876. The centerpiece of the celebration was a 6 mo. World's Fair in Philadelphia. Nearly 10 M people, in a country of 46 M flocked to see the debut of the telephone, typewriter, and Corliss steam engine, & new foods like popcorn and Heinz ketchup.
