On this day in 1863, Harriet Tubman became the 1st woman to lead a major U.S. military operation. She led 150 African American soldiers on a successful mission to free more than 750 enslaved people. One journalist wrote that the Combahee Ferry Raid “struck terror to the heart of rebeldom.” #WeTheMen

PSA: authors typically retain the right to reprint their own articles in a book they author/edit. You may have signed a contract w/ the journal saying as much or the publisher’s website may have info. If not you can email the journal editor to confirm. Just cite the original in your acknowledgments.
Only people 65 and over or with underlying health conditions should get the shots, the advisory group recommended. There may be insurance roadblocks for others.
