This headline is an absolute bloody disgrace.
Every local government FD has tangled with a service like this. It clearly needs more money, but it's very hard to disentangle the actual need from inefficiency. You have to link money to reform, and you'll probably have to drive the reform yourself.
Well between this and a new Mieville novel that's this autumn's reading shaping up nicely.
(LGR is a good idea because it means much more coherent economic and public service governance - the savings are real, but not very compelling)
The correct answer is Leveller. But no one on this thread seems to be one. I can only assume it's because they are all French.
