And for the record, the highest up higher-up at DC who told us that later personally apologized after Titans was a hit. He told me and Glen: “I was wrong. You were right.” Maybe the only time in my career that’s happened, and I will always respect him for it.
In 2003, we launched Teen Titans with the tagline “Truth. Justice. Pizza.” Some high-up folks at DC told us it wouldn’t work. That superhero stories had to be serious. That there was no room for humor or fun. 23 years later, note the tagline. Excited to watch.
