for context, the fluid I use to float the paint is lambda carrageenan, which is seaweed jelly, and once it’s prepared, it spoils and loses cohesion after about 3 days, or ~5 in the fridge, and all the paper has to be prepped with alum, which also expires, so doing this is always sort of a marathon

I've spent a lot of time peering down a microscope in the last few years, enjoyed taking inspiration from the real tiny organisms to make one of my own.
