Possibly the most useless email I’ve ever received?
TBH the thing that is most sad about the loss of ~2015-2021 era science twitter is the loss of a public square where grad students can see, and participate in, the diversity of expert opinions in the field. It really shaped how I see science.
Paid Undergraduate Research Internship within the Department of Psychology at the University of York, funded by NIHR. An 8-week summer placement is open to undergraduate students in Psychology (or related disciplines) interested in memory research.

Spent my Saturday with a “32km” (more like 36km/7 hour) 1:1 meeting with my supervisor @alexandrapike.bsky.social 🚶♀️~ all for a good cause for the Mentally Fit York Fund 🧠 though our physical health was definitely questionned 👣🩹

We found that the brain's compass is remarkably stable at two scales
1️⃣ the system maintains its internal organization for weeks
2️⃣ It "remembers" its orientation for weeks, even after a single visit
This may be key to how the brain aligns its other maps.
