Possibly the most useless email I’ve ever received?
TBH the thing that is most sad about the loss of ~2015-2021 era science twitter is the loss of a public square where grad students can see, and participate in, the diversity of expert opinions in the field. It really shaped how I see science.

I'm close to finishing data collection for my PhD- if anyone is York based and would like to take part in an intervention or experiment, please take a look! sites.google.com/york.ac.uk/l... 🧠 @alexandrapike.bsky.social @cejpreston.bsky.social

Kelly said β€˜never again’ at the end of this walk. I attribute that to the distance rather than the company - either way, I think she deserves your sponsorship money.

I'm walking 32km next week (along with @kellydonegan.bsky.social) to raise funds for Mentally Fit York! Just to make it more difficult, my 2 year old will occasionally be providing additional resistance by acting as a weighted backpack. Please sponsor me! universityofyork.enthuse.com/pf/alexandra...
Getting to that point in the PhD where you have results to show is so rewarding- looking forward to talking on this more hopefully! πŸ™
So exciting to see @lucysta02475610.bsky.social present the results of her mammoth, multi-year project to develop a questionnaire measuring the Negative Appraisal of Gastric Sensations (NAGS): it differentiates between people with eating disorders and gastric disorders! @yorkpsychology.bsky.social

New paper alert! 🚨 We found that the brain's compass is remarkably stable at two scales 1️⃣ the system maintains its internal organization for weeks 2️⃣ It "remembers" its orientation for weeks, even after a single visit This may be key to how the brain aligns its other maps. Paper: rdcu.be/e3waP
