I spent 23 years in Ohio, but that is no longer my home. I love LA more than any place on earth. People are allowed to have complex identities & allegiances. If someone loves Columbus and has been there for 10 years, they’re as much a part of the city as I am. And LA has welcomed me like that too.

I would never dare claim NYC if I moved there. I ALSO wouldn't move there. Same goes for: The Bay Area (all of it) Los Angeles Houston NoLA Chicago DC Hawaii You LIVE there but you ain't a local. Locals can tell.
