Can't find the USB power brick I bought a couple of months ago, but I have found a Dell X50V from 21 years ago.
I really like my Dell XPS-13 - it's lasted years. It could continue to last years with a battery swap. Except there is no point because Windows 11 has slowed it to a crawl.
And NONE of those updates have added features or facilities I get any significant use out of.
Obviously, Apple sell a premium product, but the manufacturers who make premium Windows machines can (and do) produce hardware that is as good.
However, that great, reliable hardware is then consistently let down by Windows rendering it unusable.
We're very much experiencing the return of paternalistic notions of control over a population who are seen as unable to manage their base desires or behave rationally.
Worse still, this is a bipartisan movement from groups who feel they are losing control and relevance. Mary Whitehouse returns!
Experience of the steady degradation of any Windows laptop over the course of many OS Updates means I couldn't currently recommend ANY laptop running Windows.
They will turn to mush.
That compares with Apple devices that appear to continue running much better for longer.
