The votes are in: Congress would rather waste tens of billions of our taxpayer dollars on ICE and Border Patrol than stand up to Trump and end his deadly attacks on immigrants. 🧵⬇️
But from Minneapolis, MN to NJ’s Delaney Hall, people nationwide are rejecting ICE’s takeover of their communities and organizing to protect immigrants. Together, we can shift the balance of power on the ground and at the ballot box to finally put an end to Trump’s racist, anti-immigrant agenda.
Japanese Americans are turning their history into a rallying cry against ICE. 🪧📣
Many were forced to sell their homes and businesses to report to WWII U.S. concentration camps — a result of anti-Asian scapegoating. With nothing to return to after the war, 2,500 Japanese Americans relocated to NJ.

Now, their descendants are stepping up to protect the community that gave their families a second chance. As Trump ramps up his racist, anti-immigrant agenda, Japanese Americans are working alongside activists to monitor ICE activity, educate neighbors about their rights, and lead protests.
Since Trump’s return to the White House, we’ve watched in horror as ICE arrests of Asian people increased by 600% compared to the Biden administration, and 11 Asian people died in ICE’s disgusting prisons.
With billions in new funding and no accountability, these numbers will continue to grow.
Asian Americans, take note: moments like this are the moments when our allyship matters the most. That means condemning the death of Cyrus Carmack-Belton and the miscarriage of justice that allowed Rick Chow to walk free.
