David Osit's PREDATORS (which I did not like, but not the point) is officially the final film to be acquired and/or released by MTV Documentary, which is a damned shame. Sheila Nevins had done great stuff to get it off the ground so strongly.

Another @sydfilmfest.bsky.social review for reDocumented, this time the sublime BARBARA FOREVER. A film as essential as the work of Barbara Hammer about whose life and works it covers. Really beautiful stuff!

I’m so happy to see Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler are to receive honorary Oscars for their work with Killer Films. Announcing during Pride Month a nice bit of symmetry considering their work is the sort of queer, subversive, independent work that’s all too often ignored by Academy voters.

So often my Spotify podcast page just does this for certain shows. Anybody had this? Seems to be no consistency with whether it’s only when WiFi isn’t on or even what shows. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t 🤷🏻♂️
So glad this thorny film, scrappy in the best '90s queer independent ways, is finally restored and back in circulation. Wild that it was essentially a lost film for so long. I thank my local library for the rare chance to see it many years ago on a first-release long-since out-of-print DVD copy.
Yesterday for @joy949.bsky.social radiothon, the Strictly Soundtracks crew joined with Livin' in the '70s for two hours of movies soundtracks from 1970s. Liza, Barbra, Diana and Jackie Collins! Rolling Stones, Patty Smyth and Sherbert! Blaxploitation and Scorsese!

Why isn't stuff like this reported as box office? Whoever gets the financial dividends from it, and despite what we might think of the use of AI, $400mil in ticket sales for a movie (even if it's just at one venue), and one from 1939 no less, puts it in rarified air. deadline.com/2026/06/the-...

With the restoration of her once sorta-lost first film I Shot Andy Warhol now playing in theaters, I sat with the great Mary Harron to talk Valerie Solanas, Andy Warhol and the poisonous call of Fame. She’s rocks, read it here:
