There are few people as or more important to the history of the American sitcom than James Burrows. TV is often described as a writer’s medium, listen to the casts of the shows Burrows directed. He set a tone, helped build show’s souls, and guided casts tremendously. What a massive loss.

James Burrows has died at the age of 85. An 11-time Emmy winner, he co-created 'Cheers' and directed episodes of 'Will & Grace', 'Friends', 'The Big Bang Theory', 'Taxi' and many other TV sitcoms.
