A giant thank you to all the partners, educators, and students who helped make this possible 💚
🌿 Encouraging news for #MangroveConservation.
A new study shows the world's #mangrove forests are recovering in many regions after decades of decline.
It's a reminder that conservation efforts can work—but also that protecting mangroves is only part of the story.
Resilience doesn't mean the absence of hardship. It means moving forward despite it.
We're proud to stand with our #mangrove education and restoration partners in #Jamaica as they continue to rebuild and move forward after #HurricaneMelissa.

Healthy #mangroves do not always mean a healthy ecosystem. Long-term success depends on a ridge-to-reef approach that considers upstream pollution, sedimentation, and other watershed impacts.
Everything is connected.

This year's #UNWorldOceansDay theme asks us to reimagine our relationship with the ocean.
Here's our perspective on what that means and why protecting coastal ecosystems matters:

Years ago, Desta and Colesia were students in our J.A.M.I.N. program learning about mangroves and coastal resilience.
Today, they're pursuing careers in conservation and inspiring the next generation.
That's the power of experiential education. 🌿
🌊 This #WorldOceansDay, we're thinking about the ecosystems that protect us.
#Coral reefs, #mangroves, and #seagrass meadows support marine life, strengthen coastal resilience, and help communities adapt to a changing climate. When we protect them, we're protecting the systems that sustain us.

🌿 This year marks 10 years of the Bahamas Awareness of Mangroves (B.A.M.) program in Abaco!
Thanks to a partnership with Friends of the Environment, we have helped hundreds of students explore mangroves through hands-on science, field activities, and environmental stewardship.
🪸New resource for coral reef scientists and managers:
The EPA has launched a Coral Reef Water Quality Evidence Dashboard that synthesizes findings from more than 5,000 peer-reviewed studies on the links between water quality and coral reef health.
