i do not know how common the brainpoison is nowadays but in pixel art circles it was really common to have an emphasis on low color counts and wow look what i can do with only x colors!! and it's a good way to build certain skills and make you think about things differently but you have to ask Why
like there is definitely something to be said about "why do many color when few do trick" - reducing the amount of colors reduces the amount of extraneous detail which like... improves your fucking uhhh... composition. God my head hurts. Watch this marco bucci video
