We’re not experts at playing ⚽. But in 90 countries, 18,000 professionals work to do what we were created for: support people affected by armed conflict and uphold the rules of war.
Rooted in the Geneva Conventions, our mission is simple: even in war, humanity matters.
Mali | The security situation has deteriorated, leading to massive casualties, loss of life, and new waves of displacement. The fighting has also put increased pressure on access to essential services.

When violence forced Likana Dhesa to flee Djugu territory, he left behind his home, his work as a tailor, and his family, who fled in another direction.
During the journey, his already weakened prosthesis broke. He reached the Rwankole Physical Rehabilitation Centre in Bunia to have it repaired
When humanitarian workers and volunteers are not protected, the people we serve are the ones who suffer the most.
Violence against humanitarians must stop.
📍Ukraine | For Viktor, using a prosthesis for the first time was a life-changing moment.
He is patient at the ICRC-supported Prosthetics and Orthotics Laboratory at the University Hospital in Kharkiv 👇🏼
📍Honduras | We accompanied families of missing persons in presenting a draft law on the search and legal protection of missing persons and their families to the President of the Honduran Congress.
The bill strengthens State obligations on search, location, identification & the rights of families.
Armed conflicts are not beyond the reach of the law. Warring parties are not free to pursue victory at any cost, especially when it endangers civilians.
Even wars have limits, always.
Attacks on:
Museums
Religious sites
Historic monuments
Libraries
Are attacks on:
Our identity.
Our history.
Our humanity.
Cultural property and places of worship are protected under international humanitarian law.
Even during war.
Civilians must be protected and respected, always.
Parties to conflicts are the only ones with enough power to enforce the rules of war, transform them into reality, and save lives.
📍Sudan | We are heartbroken by the death of Ahmed Yaquob Osman, a volunteer from the Sudanese Red Crescent Society who was killed while supporting communities in El Obeid.
Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends &colleagues, as well as to the Sudanese Red Crescent Society.
