Spock found this hollow plastic ball. I threw it in the water for him. He swam after but turns out he couldn't catch it - too wavy, and the ball began to sink.
He wouldn't catch it, but also wouldn't give up. Only one thing to do: socks and shoes off, trousers rolled up, wade out and get it for him.
