I forgot that not only did we see the usual rabbits in their yard, but also a beautiful Anna's hummingbird visited us several times and a bald eagle (!) flew overhead

my friends had a cookout today and I expected to be absolutely miserable in the heat, but there was lovely shade and we made s'mores and they're always good company so it was actually a great day
