Here's the entry numbers as reported on Liquipedia 2026 vs 2025. Again these are entry numbers, not attendance numbers, so there's plenty of double entries and it doesn't mean it's definitively bigger one year or another but it paints a picture. Also not including side tournaments for simplicity

Finally got to participate in fisticuffs with @didi.rocks in sf6. I came out on top (giggidy) in the end but not without getting right slathered by her Marisa. So, I got some training to do for next week meet.

Combo Breaker - 7973 – 6593 (+21%) Frosty Faustings - 5447 - 4629 (+17.6%) Texas Showdown - 1811 – 1485 (+22%) LVL Up – 543 – 565 (-3.9%) Slashback – 669 – 634 (+5.5%) Genesis X3 – 674 – 479 (+40%)(some of that came from adding three new tournaments) EVO - 8926 - 13316 (-33%)(only comparing Top 12s)

Also seen plenty of people saying how expensive Vegas is contributed to EVO's drop, so I included LVL UP, which is also in Vegas, and as you'll notice it also saw a drop, but very small (18 entries). Point is, there are many reasons EVO's numbers dropped, but it's definitely an outlier this year.

Now there are a few things worth mentioning, Climax of Night merged with Combo Breakers, so it probably got a boost from them, and as I said Genesis added three new tournaments (COTW and 2XKO single and doubles). But all in all, entries at majors in the US this year have been up, by a lot.

Okay so earlier today I was talking about the drop in EVO numbers this year and how Combo Breaker and Frosty Faustings saw higher entry numbers. Well this sent me down a rabbit hole and I decided to count up the entry numbers of several majors in America from this year and last.
