I don’t think people who work in media have wrapped their head around how much we (the base of the Democratic Party) hate them.
Genuinely there is probably more distrust among libs of our legacy media than among republicans.
Did you read the piece? That's not the tenor of the thing. (It's also the case that the author, who I happen to know, is nothing like your portrait of a cloistered...cafeteria-luncher, I guess? But that's not the point: the piece is not a "social trends piece.")
