The joke is that we have almost no regional transit in Canada, but the Bow Valley shows us how it could be.

Big developers are often are against yimby candidates because they have traditionally succeeded in the current housing system. Making it easier for small developers to operate creates competition and lowers housing cost, which lowers big developers margins
So asking rents are at about mid-2022 levels. And still far above 2019.
And know what people said about Vancouver's housing market then?
"Housing crisis."
The fact that rents are down a bit from their peak, but still at crisis levels, means govt needs to do more, not pat themselves on the back.

We took the Bow Valley municipal bus system ROAM the other night from Banff to Canmore. Heated shelters (needed 🥲). It’s excellent system. Pay w an easy app. The Americans (Californians) among us were like “omg Canada is amazing. Public transit to another town & trailheads.”

This is deep, conspiracy level bullshit, very easily refuted with easily available empirical data. California is full of faux progressives like this. I really hope the younger generation can organize to overcome them.
