Just received a rejected manuscript, but glad that we got very constructive and thorough reviews.
Unfortunately this is not always the case, so kudos to the reviewers for the great work!!
The observed recovery of biomass was achieved thanks to quick regrowth post-drought, reflected at the trait level (higher SLA).
How do these trait shifts affect other plant-associated organisms (e.g., herbivores)? Can plants still recover after more recurrent droughts? 🤔
Getting ready for the Oikos conference here in Jyväskylä 👌🏻 found some well-spent time for outdoor activities

Preprint out!! 🌡️🌐
This has been a huge project, and I'm extremely happy to finally share it!
If you are into climate extremes, soil biodiversity, elevational gradients and seasonality, take a look and feel free to reach out 😉

Such a great time at #OikosFin2025! Amazing program, super nice people and beautiful location 🙌🏻
I even received a very enthuastic award! 🤪
Our first study from the Hasli Outdoor Mesocosm Experiment (HOME) is out!!
Here we focus on plant responses to extreme heat and drought during the first two years of the experiment, and we found that fast- and slow-growing plants fully recovered to drought
