The discourse around difficulty settings in Souls games was especially silly, because the difficulty of those games is 1) overstated 2) clearly part of the authorial intent and 3) mitigated by mechanical choices made by the player

It's bizarre how repeatedly people keep hijacking the conversation about Accessibility away from things like closed captioning, colorblindness support, alt-text for screen-readers, etc, to "Games should be easier to play, books should be easier to read, and shows should be simple to understand"
