hot take, but it seems like a very analogous problem to how the irl streets have become unsafe public spaces for kids because transgressively antisocial behaviors of drivers + bloated armored-up of vehicle designs have made the commons a ubiquitous zone of perpetual hazard limb & life
I really do think a lot about how big tech systematically destroyed all the reasonably-safe places intended specifically for kids online….
and now powerful interests are turning around and claiming that we have to destroy Internet privacy because being online is obviously dangerous for kids.
