There's a lot of reasons not to use genAI, but one of the reasons that doesn't get talked about is that it kneecaps your ability to socialize. It is nourishing and life-extending to build relationships with humans. By using a chatterbot instead, you lose a vital source of fulfillment.

There's a lot of ways in which genAI is antisocial, but one of the ways that strikes me is as a replacement for brainstorming partners. I've been playing Koriko: A Magical Year, a solo RPG, but I've been sharing what's happening and brainstorming prompt answers with friends. It's super fun!

My favorite thing about TTRPG oneshots is that there's no downside. If your session is awful, you never have to see those people again, and if your session is great, you can exchange contact info so you can all play 7 Part Pact later or something
