Jumping back to 7.4 Ren'Py may be an option but I need to investigate more re: how much of my games it would break. WtDSR would def not work as it uses too many new features, but other games might.
But I need to avoid 7.4.4 as it has a nasty animation bug that racked OW for the entire first year:
