And thatβs just the person I saw today. Sorry to the wheelchairs and strollers and people needing extra space to move. Apparently Lynnwood wants you to step into traffic when youβre trying to make your way down the road.

He was riding on the sidewalk. He was just trying to go to school and thereβs no bike lane or safe path to get there, so he was riding (slowly) on the sidewalk. And yeah, I donβt love bikes/cycling, and yeah, you shouldnβt ride on the sidewalk. But how else is this kid supposed to get there?
My mom is a retired city planner. I know lots of civil servants and traffic engineers. They want us to use all these mixed modes of transportation, to design traffic and pedestrian flows that are safe⦠but this shit costs money and we are not willing to spend it. So a kid falls into traffic.
This morning I saw a kid, maybe 15yrs old, crash his bike on his way to school, and landed fully in the road on 196th in @lynnwoodwa.bsky.social
This is a busy 5-lane road with lots of trucks and buses. Thank God the vehicle slammed on their brakes, and that kid got to go to school today
