I rapidly lost weight postpartum and the amount of compliments I received from all kinds of folks baffled me. I expected it from *some* usual suspects (like my mother in law 🙄) but others REALLY surprised me… diet culture and fatphobia have truly done a number on folks.

The extra grim thing for me is that commenting on people's bodies is something people across the political spectrum feel is acceptable.
We can't just chalk it up to oh a bigot is a bigot because fatphobia runs so fucking deep that "well meaning" people do this shit too.
