THIS is HUGE! Researchers at Mie University in Japan have successfully used CRISPR Cas9 gene editing to remove the extra chromosome 21 responsible for Down syndrome from human cells for the first time. The team is led by Dr. Ryotaro Hashizume. Published in PNAS Nexus
