Listening back to #POTP from 1979. That’s 47 years ago, FFS. Radio 2 had been on 275/285m for just over 6 months. Vague memories of our English teacher doing something for the General Election in the first 6 months of the year. Some great songs in June ‘79.
Sparks - as amazing as ever!
Swanscombe Parkway - sadly no longer a Gateway to Europe.
Flicking around the TV, and there’s Ronnie Barker showing what happened when he cooked his egg in Sunflower Oil
It’s Steve “More Music” Nage. Slightly resembling the late Victor Lewis-Smith. This may or may not have been on Radio 1.
Looks like folk with an NHS email or Bluelight can buy 10 tickets at £7.95 each - lots of us paid full price for this. Guess sales must be very low. I remember lots of upset when Forever Now started flogging off tickets last year. Maybe just price these events fairly for all?
Sparks fans who work for the NHS, and aren't already going to next Friday's gig in Chelsea, there are tickets here for just a £6.95 booking fee. A bloody excellent deal, if you qualify. I don't, but will be there. Weather forecast is middling...
