A wooded side-cwm above Ystrad in the Rhondda Fawr. Mynydd Yr Eglwys rises to the west; Mynydd Ty’n-tyle to the east. The stream runs down from near Mynydd Maerdy toward Bodringallt and the valley floor.

I used to climb this valley, to sit for hours on that rock or legs dangling from the fallen tree and listen to the water tinkling its way down over the rock, the rooks and ravens cracking and cawing above the tree canopy and the bumble bees making their way from foxglove to foxglove, happy times.
