My alien lore is absolutely nuts but I can sorta explain part of it with grasshoppers and locusts?
All Sixam were grasshoppers, then THE MOTHER showed up, and made one of them a locust. Locusts make the entire herd(?) insane. So that's what Qorath did.
Qorath is the most heavily influenced.
