I have no concrete proof to back this up, but I remain convinced that Trump believes he’s dying and thus leaning into this weird campaign of legacy branding (Kennedy Center, ballroom, arch, etc.) because he’s deeply insecure over how he’ll be remembered and the window is rapidly closing.
