I can't decide if I want to do Art Fight this year. I didn't get a chance to draw anything last year since my dad was in the hospital for most of July.
My mum has a very "this would be acceptable work if you had a partner" mindset that's difficult to navigate, especially as a lesbian on the ace spectrum living in a town that makes an annual thing out of vandalizing the Pride flag crosswalk.
Things are just weird.
Since job prospects in the fields of animation & illustration have been insanely bleak, I've been working retail for the last couple months.
It's fine but there's definitely an element of humiliation to it since my family doesn't really value it or the freelance work I've been doing.
