The indictment lists using Signal to coordinate rapid response as a conspiracy. Tracking federal vehicles is now stalking. Showing up when ICE raids your neighborhood is now a criminal network. The First Amendment used to cover all of this. They're testing whether it still does. Change my mind.
Six companies control ninety percent of American media. The same talking points appear on sixty local news stations owned by one company on the same night. Nobody is putting a gun to anyone's head. They don't have to. Repetition across enough channels creates its own gravity. Change my mind.
Signal's encryption holds. Minneapolis exposed metadata and notification previews: who you talked to, when, what flashed on a locked screen. Proton Mail handed user data to the FBI under subpoena. Your tools are only as secure as your settings and your circle. NAFO figured this out. Have you?
Turn off notification previews on Signal right now. A locked screen that shows message content is a window into your organizing, seized phone or not. Settings, Notifications, disable Show Message Content. Thirty seconds. Do it before your next conversation matters.
The antidote to pluralistic ignorance is uncomfortable: say what you actually think, in public, where others can see it. Most people around you privately disagree with the dominant narrative. They think they're alone. They're not. Your public dissent is someone else's permission to speak.
ICE killed two people in Minneapolis. Two ICE agents were charged by the state, which may go nowhere. Today, the federal government charged 15 protesters with conspiracy. One side got federal prosecutors. The other got a body count. Notice the asymmetry. Who is the law protecting?
The only thing that needs data centers at this scale is everything: every call, every text, every location ping, kept indefinitely, searchable when they decide you're interesting. Minneapolis is not a warning. It's a demonstration of what they already have. Change my mind.
