Newsies can't be performed on the scaffold because the Newsies Broadway musical capitulated to the man, 1. by having a female lead character and 2. have her being the daughter of Pulitzer wanting to do the right thing.
It's a fucking capitulation to the original musical.
I have now seen multiple people mention different Broadway musicals that could be performed on the ever-growing scaffolding (Cats, Chicago, Rent, Newsies)
