I'm all in favour of a European Order of Merit.
I'm less in favour of a system that seems to prioritise giving out medals to the political pals and "ex" with a few token actual citizens.
Poor Commissioners who have to stop for 20-30min to recharge their car on their way to/from Strasbourg.
1) Take the train like us plebs and reschedule your sensitive calls.
2) 20-30 min is not bad, just get a coffee & touch grass.
3) Drivers surely appreciate a 20-30min break on a 5 hours drive.
