We tell the stories of the wide variety of Chicagoans who bike around the city, in photos and video. Read all our past interviews at chiwho.bike!
Chicagoans Who Bike
We were out last night and took some photos at the jam and vigil ride for Riley O'Neil (hosted by @bikegridnow.org), a CDOT employee who spent his life working to make biking safer in Chicago, and was killed in a crash in Bridgeport on Friday June, 5th.
Rest in Peace, Riley.
A ride and vigil honoring CDOT worker Riley O'Neil was held in Bridgeport. He died after being hit by a vehicle in an unprotected bike lane, the very kind he dedicated his career to replacing. Find this story on CBSChicago.com.
I LOVE this. Just be a regular person on a bike. You don't have to do it for exercise--you certainly don't need to count miles or calories expended. Use a bike to get places. Find the routes that make you feel comfortable. Find a bike that makes whatever you're doing easy. Have fun.

We've added a photo of Traffic Safety Chair Ald. Daniel La Spata by @chiwho.bike's Viktor Köves, to our writeup of last night's powerful memorial ride and "die-in" protest honoring fallen CDOT Planner Riley O'Neil. 6 alders were there.

Hello, my Chicago-area friends. Have you recently ditched your car for public transit because of high gas prices? I'd like to talk with you for a story! Please email me at [email protected]
If you appreciate what we do and are able to send us a few bucks, it helps us print materials like those stickers that go right back into the community or purchase vests for our marshals. We have not taken a donation in over *two years.* Eventually, those funds are depleted. Our link is below.
