The 'digital posters' works will be added to a website, and people might or might not check them out at their leisure, absolutely defeating the purpose of attending a conference to get feedback and display work that has taken years of personal effort.

This reflects poorly on @scar-antarctic.bsky.social and the organising committee, who clearly did not anticipate the high number of worthy submissions that are now being given a consolation prize of being shared in a website.

I'm astounded at the lack of consideration shown by #SCAR2026 to the efforts of many Antarctic scientists, mostly ECR and from developing countries, who submitted abstracts and were forced into the obscure category of 'digital posters', which won't even be presented during the conference.
