And then there were EIGHTH! We now have 8 centers and 3 countries represented in our study with now the first 20 patients entered into our database. We anticipate 4 more sites coming on this week. Exciting times!
As of today we officially welcomed Indiana University (the home institution for this work!) along with SIU and @uabpediatrics.bsky.social and officially had our first patient entered in the database!
Today we officially launched AWAKEN 2.0 - a study that we hope will improve our understanding of neonatal kidney disease both in the NICU and beyond. We plan to use this account to update on our study progress, share milestones and information and eventually share our results!
AWAKEN 2.0 is a multi-center retrospective cohort study using similar methodology as the original AWAKEN study, enrolling a cohort of children born five years after the original AWAKEN cohort (2019). We are still recruiting site (a map of our current cohort of >100 locations in >30 countries).
