Just came across a note I made ages ago from Roger Lovegrove's book 'Silent Fields'. It's mostly a depressing history of the killing of British animals as 'vermin', but while examining the parish accounts of St Teath, Cornwall from 1812, he came across a bounty paid 'To 2 Fairy's Heads 4d'! 🧚
