Disappointed to learn that the Ontario teachersβ pension plan is a large investor in Muskβs SpaceX. In addition to very controversial leadership, SpaceX generates wealth disparity and has violated labor and environmental regulations.
Are others also becoming concerned that encouraging students to attend conferences in the US may no longer feel entirely safe?
For reals....
I often wish we could do more to support and accelerate ECRs during peer review.
But there are trade-offs; signaling ECR status may unintentionally introduce biases, and support mechanisms can end up disproportionately benefiting already well-connected researchers. The balance is far from simple.
