It has become difficult to reach a #science audience on #social_media. For example, the combined reach of a recent post about a new paper shared here, on LinkedIn, and on Mastodon was nowhere near what it used to be on Twitter alone. Is there a good solution, or should I start making TikTok videos?
Using #eyetracking data from 97 ten-year-olds, we explored who gets #irony and why:
💙 #empathy supports accurate irony comprehension
🧠 #working_memory speeds up processing (but not accuracy)
👧👦 #gender shows no effect
Today in Psychology (5th May 1908), psychologist Raymond Dodge's 'apparatus for testing eyes' was officially patented. Via which he conducted pioneering research into the psychology of reading and the function of eye movements in the visual perception of motion.
