There are so many things that need doing in this country. There are so many jobs not being done. Investing in our country, in our infrastructure - this is the other side of the coin of investing in young people. We can't just leave it to late-stage capitalism and hope it somehow works out. /end
If the future is unpredictable, that is because of choices being made. Of course, I'm not arguing for stagnation, for cementing the status quo in place. But the economy is supposed to serve society, not the other way around. Businesses have a social contract - it is up to us what that is. /3

So, perhaps a strongly worded letter from the regulator in a couple of months then. Ofcom is clearly not fit for purpose, but in what way is this not a police matter? We've had high-profile prosecutions for inciting violence online - in what way does this not qualify? Even just to send a message?
While on the face of it, it seems pragmatic, it casts off our own agency as a society. How much can we really ask people to mould themselves to an ever more chaotic and inhumane economy? There is only so much versatility one person can achieve. /2

From yesterday on the government's idiocy on nudity detection, etc. (Trying out Patreon - it's free though, no sign ups, etc.)
Migrant homes and businesses being set alight by “protestors” in Belfast tonight. Musk has helped start another pogrom in the U.K. Yet still our Gvt won’t leave X.
