The vilain whose only reason for existing in the narrative universe is to make the protagonist's life difficult. This person often has no goals or ambitions other than thwarting the hero. I call them mustache twirlers.
When the lead ballooned it looked like the bad 1st half refereeing wasn't going to matter but real talk the refs are the reason the Knicks are going into the 4th quarter down 15 and not 5 or 7.
The referees aren't the reason the Spurs are winning but they're the reason the Spurs are winning by 20 instead of 10.
However this game ends Jalen Brunson is once again a bad, bad man.
