Nobody expects anything of, say, the New York Post, which is why you mock them but their bullshit doesn’t upset you. The New York Times is capable of speaking plainly, like this, which is why it’s upsetting when its frequent circumlocutions protect Trump.

No matter what you or I might think about the editing at the NYT these days, or how much Trump pretends he doesn't care, he *does* care a lot about what the Times says. So I'm really glad they are saying this.
