Update 3:
Our goose Lily has made a full recovery after her scary encounter with a bold coyote that left her with several deep bite wounds in her back, wing, and armpit (wingpit?) She was very lucky and I’m grateful for my vet’s support.

UPDATE: Lily the goose was checked out by our vet and though her wounds were deep they missed the organs and airsac. She’ll be on some antibiotics and pain meds for a few weeks and has a little quarantined space in the coop.

After several years of no incidents, we had an unfortunate coyote attack tonight. He tried to grab our girl Lily and run off. She has some puncture wounds which we cleaned up and she is resting. Coyote’s days are numbered. 🔫🔫🔫
