"4chan was uniquely the worst place on the internet" people who were never on early Newgrounds, who were never on unmoderated irc channels, on niche forums, etc. It sucked. It sucked bad. I will not say it didn't suck. 2026 4chan sucks so much more it is difficult to comprehend the gap.
