She wanted to write #novels. Poetry came first. For years she gathered metaphors, images & questions with no apparent destination. They accumulated in spiral notebooks. Only much later, writing fiction, did she understand. The poems had been leaving breadcrumbs all along.

Ultimately, she was ordered by the court to pay $100 + court fees. She said she would never pay a penny of the "unjust penalty."
And she never did.
