AIMOS is glad to submit our response to @stmassoc.bsky.social's discussion paper re: AI in research. osf.io/ghq2r/files/...
A few thoughts on the launch of JROR, especially because the editors are actively soliciting comment:
1: So much time & energy go into running journals (above & beyond the editorial labor), so kudos for this group for resigning from Publications & then successfully starting another journal.
This article proposes restructuring scientific papers, with front-loaded narratives for humans as well as machine-readable appendices.
Reviewers found the idea worthwhile & timely, while suggesting engagement with previous work & needing an update on the AI processing.

Our new paper on this topic begins by summarising three pathways to improve crediting of research contributors – 1. Loosen authorship restrictions.

My new piece looks at recent bizarre overestimates of Long COVID rates.
Also, how we can be fairly certain that the true rate of Long COVID is now very low in 2026.

What riles me up about “people tried to shut down PP research” is that Cuddy’s own coauthor-turned-critic Carney guest-edited a whole special issue of Registered Reports on Power Posing (incl a meta-analysis), which shows strong evidence against PP even though most authors clearly weren’t sceptics.
The ongoing story of bizarre overestimates of Long COVID rates
We're excited to launch J·ROR, the Journal of Research on Research.
A new open-access home for research on how research is funded, organised, conducted, communicated, and evaluated.

Do the assumptions of metascience hold up to close scrutiny?
