i think i like headcrabs as much as i do because theyre very unique looking little aliens. theyre obviously based on facehuggers conceptually but instead of being sleek cool bugs theyre fat meaty lumps with stumpy legs. theyre not really shaped like any animal
my theory for the headcrab life cycle and why they turn their hosts into zombies is that the only way headcrabs can feed is by hijacking the digestive system of another animal, which would also explain why headcrab zombies grow big claws and chest mouths.
poison/fast zombies would just be different species with different methods of hunting prey, they also feel more directly carnivorous to me, considering how poison headcrabs and fast zombies literally strip the flesh off their hosts. gonarchs just happen when headcrabs get big and run out of hosts
